Exploring Mactaquac Headpond

While camping in Newfoundland, Tom and I met and made friends with Jerry and Charlotte. They invited us to camp with them, in New Brunswick, on our way home. We enjoyed three beautiful days with Jerry and Charlotte at the Mactaquac Headpond on the St. John River.

During the days, we went kayaking, boating and fishing on the water. We visited some of the local sites, by boat, including the World's Largest Axe and Big Axe Brewery. While Tom and Jerry were fishing from the boat, Charlotte, Aly and I kayaked. Aly loves kayaking but she loves fishing even more. And, when she saw Tom and Jerry reeling in bass, she wasn't about to be left out of the action.

Each evening, Tom and I joined Jerry, Charlotte, and their family for happy hour. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting their siblings, kids, and grandkids. Everyone was so welcoming, and the area was so beautiful, we might have stayed the rest of the summer! But, alas, home was beckoning and we bid our farewell. We look forward to seeing our new friends somewhere and sometime in the future!
