Pine Cove Campground

Pine Cove Campground is in White River National Forest and is managed by the US Department of Agriculture. Like many federal campgrounds, Pine Cove offers a 50% discount to people with a Senior or Access Pass.

The campground

Pine Cove Campground is located on the shores of Frisco Bay at Dillon Reservoir and offers easy access to kayaking, biking, and exploring the town of Frisco, Colorado. It includes a Day Use parking lot in addition to the RV and tent sites.

Vault toilets and large dumpsters are located at each end of the campground.

The gated boat dock is restricted to authorized personnel. However, you can park near the gate, temporarily, to unload/load kayaks. They even provide kayak carts and and life vests for you to borrow!

The campsites

Each RV site is wide enough to easily accommodate a large RV and an additional vehicle.

The tent sites include narrow but deep parking spaces. The tent sites are a short distance from the parking lot but they all have easy access to the lake.

Approximately half the RV sites are directly on the lake shore with easy access to the water and beautiful views of Frisco Bay.

All the campsites have plenty of room for camping chairs, bikes, kayaks, and other toys.

Each campsite includes a picnic table and large fire pit. Don’t forget the roasting sticks and Twinkies!

At the time of this post, all the campsites at Pine Cove Campground are on a first come basis. And, as you might imagine, the waterfront spaces are the first to go.
