Wheels Up for Ecuador Day 14

On Day 14 of my trip to Ecuador, Sierra and I had a relaxing day around Puerto Villamil.

Puerto Villamil

We started our day with a stroll along the boardwalk, Poza Puerto del Jeli, being careful to avoid iguanas. We walked along the beach and out to Concha de Perla, also doing our best not to step on the iguanas.

Until my visit to the Galápagos Islands, I didn't fully appreciate sea lions. Like the iguanas, sea lions are everywhere and they are so entertaining! We enjoyed sharing the beautiful Isabela bays with them!

Sierra and I enjoyed frozen drinks on the pier and a fresh coconut from the tree climbing coconut man at sunset. Unfortunately, a storm was coming in and we couldn't see the sun. But, we had fun watching the brown pelicans diving into the water fishing for dinner.

Expenses

I'm doing my best to track expenses in this spreadsheet for anyone that's interested in a similar, relatively low-budget trip.

Ecuador Fun Fact

Isabela is the largest island in the Galápagos archipelago and was formed by the joining of six volcanoes, five of which are still active. From above Isabela is shaped like a seahorse.
