Wheels Up for Ecuador Day 6

On Day 6 of my trip to Ecuador, I went scuba diving with Sierra near Puerto Lopez.

Diving near Puerto Lopez

To complete the final step of her rescue diving certification, Sierra was scheduled for two boat dives near Puerto Lopez. I was able to join her rescue dive trip for a "fun dive".

The boat took us about 40 minutes southwest of Puerto Lopez to dive on the reefs of Islas Los Ahorcados.

During our dives we saw a variety of sea animals including angelfish, puffer fish, eels, snakes, stingrays, and my favorite, a sea turtle.

Expenses

I'm doing my best to track expenses in this spreadsheet for anyone that's interested in a similar, relatively low-budget trip.

Ecuador Fun Fact

Due to the Coriolis Effect, hurricanes in the northern hemisphere spin counterclockwise while hurricanes (aka cyclones) in the southern hemisphere spin clockwise. At the equator, the Coriolis Effect is zero making it virtually impossible for a hurricane/cyclone to form at or cross the equator. So, while the country of Ecuador may experience other natural disasters, it's safe from hurricanes/cyclones.
