On Day 2 of our RV trip to Texas, Tom took our truck to the RAM dealer in Trinidad while Aly and I hung out at the Gears RV Park in Aguilar.
Highlights
We woke to a beautiful snowstorm... the one we were trying to escape the day before. But, we'll take whatever highlights we can find. Tom had a treacherous drive taking our truck into the RAM dealer early that morning. But, on the bright side, they squeezed us into their busy schedule without an appointment.
Challenges
By noon the mechanics determined that our DEF tank was a solid block of frozen DEF fluid. They spent the rest of the day trying to thaw it. After taking it for a test drive at the end of day, the tank was still partially frozen and the truck was even closer to Limp Mode. The mechanics wanted to keep it in the shop with heaters to continue thawing it over night. One of the mechanics was nice enough to drive Tom back to our camper at Gears RV Park.
Home Sweet Home
We acquiesced to another unplanned night at Gears RV Park. At least the storm had passed and the skies were clearing. The RV park isn't in the most convenient location so far from town. But it has plenty of open space for Aly to run. And, as far as she's concerned, this is our destination!
