South Padre Island, Texas or Bust Day 8

On Day 8 of our RV trip to Texas, Tom and I drove just over 200 miles from our boondocking site on the beach in Port Aransas, Texas to our RV park on South Padre Island, Texas.

Highlights

Tom and I caravanned with our friends, Dennis and Wendy, and were happy to finally arrive on South Padre Island. The weather was beautiful and we were excited to settle into out RV site near the beach. Our site is close to all the activities we enjoy including walking along the beach, playing pickleball and the Beach Bodies workout on the boardwalk. We didn't waste any time unloading our bikes and riding into town for live music and dancing. Enlace was at Longboards playing all the classic dance favorites!

Challenges

Apparently February 1st is one of the busiest days of the year to check into the Isla Blanca RV Park on South Island. When we arrived at the Cameron County Park and Rec building to check in for the site we reserved last April, the parking lot was full of RVs with a line of people out the door. Fortunately the line went relatively fast. And, while Tom and Dennis waited to check in, Wendy and I took our dogs on a much needed walk. It seems that Aly had not forgotten the scary tire blowout from the previous day. She was nervous and panting the entire drive from Port Aransas to South Padre Island.
