Taking a break near Tucson

After six days of driving and sleeping in a different place every night, we were relieved to reach our friends’ home south of Tucson. We enjoyed four days in the Tucson area catching up with old friends. And, Aly enjoyed playing with their dogs!

Our friends’ house, where we boondocked, is only about 5 miles from the Mexico border near Miller’s Peak. The snow-dusted peak reaches an elevation of 9,470 feet (2,886 m). Maybe, if we weren’t trying to escape the snow, we would have climbed it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

In addition to mountain views and puppy playmates, our visit included priceless time with their adorable twin grandchildren!
