Zion to Bryce Canyon National Park

After a week of boondocking and exploring the area around Zion National Park, Tom and I began our drive home. We visited Bryce Canyon National Park along the way.

As Tom and I left our boondocking location near Apple Valley, Utah, I mapped our route to North Campground in Bryce Canyon National Park using the GPS system in our truck. It took us south into Arizona past Pipe Spring National Monument then up north through Kanab, Utah. I usually check our truck GPS against Google Maps because it's often unreliable. Unfortunately, I didn't this time. As we headed south into Arizona, we passed a turn to the east for Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. I'd been wanting to take a day trip there all week but we never made it. After following our GPS down through Arizona and back up into Utah, we saw a turn to the west for Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. A quick search on Google Maps revealed that the fastest route from Apple Valley to Bryce Canyon National Park runs right past Coral Sand Dunes State Park. Well, now we know for next time.

Highlights

After exploring Zion National Park, our drive to Bryce was was relatively uninteresting. The pink sand dunes might have helped! There were some nice views along the way and Bryce Canyon was well worth the drive!
