Exploring Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site

After exploring Signal Hill, our Newfie friends and tour guides, Rob and Cindy, took Tom and I to visit Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site.

Cape Spear Lighthouse, built in 1836, is the oldest surviving lighthouse in the province. Signs and artifacts spread across the site describe its historical significance as a lighthouse, military post, and the most easterly point in North America. You'll also find a small cafe and and a gift shop. Hiking trails offer beautiful views of the rugged coastline.
