Exploring Signal Hill National Historic Site

During our four day say in St. John's Newfoundland, we visited Signal Hill National Historic Site with our new Newfie friends, Rob and Cindy.

We started our day with a delicious breakfast at Rob and Cindy's beautiful home in St. John's. I can't rember the last time we had so much perfectly ripe fresh fruit.. not to mention homemade scones! They even invite Aly to breakfast! After eating breakfast and dropping Aly off at our camper, We headed for historic Signal Hill, the most prominent landmark in St. John's. In addition to being a historic military site, Signal hill is where the first trans-Atlantic wireless signal was received. Signs throughout the site provide context for its historical significance. Hiking trails leading to and surrounding Signal Hill offer beautiful views of the coastline, St. John's Harbor and the city of St. Johns. You can also see Cape Spear, the next stop on our tour.
