After relaxing with friends for a few days in Boise, Tom and I headed north on Highway 55 for the last leg of our journey to the Northwest Truck Camper Rally in Cascade, Idaho.
Sights along the way
Most of our drive to Cascade took us along the beautiful Payette River. Like all the other rivers on our trip, the Payette was raging with Spring runoff from the unusually wet winter. And, just in case the river wasn’t full enough, it rained a little more during our drive.
Camping in Lake Cascade State Park
We arrived in Cascade a few days before the Truck Camper Rally so we booked two nights at Ridgeway Campground in Lake Cascade State Park. Being last minute, all the lakefront sites were taken but there were no bad sites in the campground. Ridgeview Campground offers easy access to both the lake and the town of Cascade. Check out this post to learn more about Ridgeview Campground.
Lake Cascade is beautiful and we fully intend to return another time. Next time we’ll bring our kayaks!
