Utah to Colorado May 2023

After boondocking in Brigham City Utah, Tom and I continued our drive south on Interstate 15 through Salt Lake City. At Spanish Fork we took Highway 6 east then 191 south to connect with Interstate 70 just before Green River, Utah.

I’ve never traveled this stretch of highways between Salt Lake City and Green River. It’s much prettier than I imagined.

Tie Fork Rest Area

We took a break at the Tie Fork Rest Area which is very nice. And, not just because it has a fenced dog park! It has a large parking lot and many nice picnic facilities in addition to the restrooms. It even has EV charging stations.

Crossing into Colorado

We’re always happy to cross back into our home state of Colorado. We’d already driven over 300 miles that day and still had another 300 to go. So, we found a great place to boondock through our Harvest Hosts membership.

Boondocking at Peachfork Orchards and Vineyards

When we pulled into Peachfork Orchards and Vineyards in Palisade, Colorado, our host, Phil, led us to our parking spot surrounded by vineyards. Absolutely beautiful!

We arrived just in time for afternoon wine tasting! Tom and I enjoyed five samples of wine which led to buying two bottles… one for now and one to take home. While enjoying our wine, we met two other harvest host boondockers.

I was so busy chatting with the adventurous women we met that I forgot to take pictures. While I was getting to know my new friends, Tom and our host, Phil, enjoyed bourbon in the vineyard with the dogs. It seems Aly enjoys vineyards as much as we do! We’ll definitely return to Peachfork Orchards in the future!
